The Story
The driving force behind this project is Chef and Entrepreneur, Peter Foster. Having grown up just down the coast, Foster has a strong adherence to the geography of the West Coast and Pacific Northwest. Creating a business around his passions is nothing new to Peter, as exemplified by his catering company, Memoirs based in Honolulu and as Restaurant Consultant to the City of Sherwood. Now Foster has his eye set on creating Prodigal Sons to champion "table to farm" experiences and building communities around conscious consumption, starting with the food we eat and how seasons dictate our ‘circadian palette.’
Chef Peter Foster has a myriad of accolades and is recognized as one of the premier Chefs in Hawaii, garnering recognition from colleagues, customers and publications. Classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Chef Foster combines elements of training, experience and passion to bring a truly authentic approach to food, community and business.
Project Summary
At Prodigal Sons LLC, we have embraced a remarkable opportunity to breathe new life into a forgotten 19.7-acre orchard, left untended since the 1990s. With a vision that encompasses farming and construction on a humble 2 acres of this expansive land, we eagerly await the go-ahead from the City of Sherwood to integrate this space into Sherwood’s vibrant community. By creating a dedicated farm and restaurant space, we are not just transforming soil; we are sowing the seeds of growth and innovation for Sherwood. Together, we pave the way for a brighter, more prosperous future, nurturing both the land and the hearts of our community.
